Capo Palinuro is easily identified. The cape is named after Palinurus, the helmsman of Aeneas ship who fell overboard and was killed from native. Palinuro offer shelter possibilities in any condition. The harbour (formed of a quay 200 m long protected by a pier 100 m long) and the village lie on the northern side of the Cape, while on the SE side of the cape there is one of the most beautiful bays of southern Tyrrhenian Sea (baia del Buondormire).
